Finlay getting around to testing the parachute dress out in the water. It needs a few tweaks for open water but it will flow well at Stuarts Cove next spring. Sharks, Underwater models, and long flowing gowns will make for a dramatic capture. I’m guessing it will take a team of 6 divers to pull this off safely in open water and a skilled underwater model.
This wasn’t not intended to be a Cos Play image just a bizarre idea I had one evening while watching the Fifth Element on the tube. The Idea was pretty simple, Just an orange wig and some white Duct Tape. The problems was finding a model to actually pull this off. So I gave Hannah Kelsey a ring and asked if she was up for something different. She hopped in her car and drove from California to Lubbock just to be dunked in the UW studio. Of course she pulled of this amazing underwater image with little difficulty. The results are LeeLoo walking on water.
When I was first asked to do KaiLee’s underwater maternity photos I was a bit concerned about how the water might affect the unborn child. The big one was the pressure of the water going to induce labor in a 36 week pregnancy? The other was would the mother holding her breath have a negative affect on the baby? So I set up a few meetings with a couple of OB physicians in town to see what they had to say. They pretty much told me the baby would extract oxygen form the mother no matter what. It might affect the mothers ability to holding her breath but the baby would be fine. If it did induce labor, unlikely, the baby was going to be coming out very soon anyway. So with that information in hand, I ventured into the realm of underwater maternity photos. A little tricky but defiantly worth the energy and time. Interesting question here, would a pregnant woman underwater be considered a submarine?
